D700...Have you looked?
I tend to buy only the top of the line, but since the economy kicked some sense into my head, I now look at what it is I really need. I used a D3 for 2 months or so, then tried a D700. Turns out that what I need is more than covered by the D700. The D3 would just have options that I would rarely use...if ever.
So, right tool for the right job?
