I don't really see a need to separate. We are all photographers, and as such, we are all here to learn from each other.
I got my first DSLR about a year ago. I was SO excited because I just KNEW I was now going to take the most amazing pictures ever known to man!

I discovered a DSLRs limitations quickly, though. The learning curve is steep, you can't take it with you everywhere, it's big and bulky, etc. Honestly, I take my p&s with me everywhere. I don't have the extra hand to carry my DSLR with me everywhere.

I LOVE my Lumix! I need to get a new p&s soon (I keep burning through mine in 3 years flat, without fail), but I'm pretty set on getting another Lumix. I've been so impressed with it!
