I'm going to be doing a lot of international traveling in the next couple of months, and I would feel a lot better if my camera were insured. I do not own a home, so a homeowner's policy is out. I will be
moving internationally soon, so it doesn't even make sense for me to get a renter's policy at this point in time (though I'll be doing it once I'm settled in.)
What would seem to make the most sense is to get travel insurance. The trouble is, every policy I've looked at either limits personal item coverage to about $1,000 (not even enough to cover a single lens) or they allow up to $2,500 and specifically
exclude electronics. (I guess it's just to cover all those custom tailored Italian suits I travel with?)
Can anyone recommend or even know of a company that will insure my gear either for a short term (a few months) or on a per-trip basis? I'll be traveling with nearly $10k worth of equipment on some occasions.
