Thanks Michael, it was a seriously windy fall day and the sky was awesome .. It's just the one exposure, I played a bit with shadows and highlights, contrast and sat ..

They sacrificed a lot to make sure we had food on the table, and a roof over our head. My father told me about a time when he was in a small town in Holland, and was part of a large group of people being round up to take to a concentration camp. My father knew the town well, and casually exited into a small alley, and walked away from the whole camp issue. Crazy! He had a lot of inner strength all his life, and even up to the day he died, which was about 4 years ago, at 91, never complained about any of the sacrifices he made for his family. I was lucky to have seen him about 3 days before he died. My mom is still alive, and almost 91. They were married for over 60 years, which in today's standard, is rare. Thanks for the post, and allowing me to reflect on my father, my mother, and life.
