HERRINGBONE RAIL

A pattern consisting of rows of short, slanted parallel lines with the direction of the slant alternating row by row and used in masonry, parquetry, embroidery, and weaving.
Oh... and of course - cowsheds. lol
This is the rail that the cows 'plant' their bums when being milked. The design of the rail gave rise to the name of the entire cowshed - the Herringbone Cowshed.
