Inkista, sorry if you felt that I was asking you to do my homework. That was not what I ment. I did some results research between the two lenses and also some others as mentioned by several friends here on dps. I found a couple of websites by googling which gives some good comparison.

Andrewdt, thanks for shaking my fundamentals regarding the Full frame and crop sensor. I really required it. And ultimately it comes back to how many $$ I have with me to spare.

Saralonde, This is really a good point you make. I will really think about this as this will give me the existing range of 18-55 + 1 more on the wide angle side

I will certainly make my decision and post back here. Right now, I just found out that I can do Manual focusing with the lens but Automatic focusing is not available. This will help me do some photography while I am in India for Holidays.
