May be in future I can think of a telephoto lens to complement the EF range.
Is my thinking right? or I should be thinking about EF-S lenses?

I was also wrestling with this. I honestly think though that if I were to invest in a full frame body in the future I would not still be looking at consumer lenses. I would only be buying L lenses with a high end body. Period. *Most* pros that I chat to or see have full frame and L lenses. This is a tool of their trade - these are their moneymakers. What I am trying to get at here is full frame is not in my sights for a while, and I would rather invest in some glass for now. Many say that the only reasons the 17-55 is not in the L series are that it is EF-S and the composites used in the barrel are slightly different, but the glass is L. I only mention the 17-55 as that is what I am most interested in, but I am certain there are 1 or 2 others in that same category.
So I am not going to let EF-S scare me off it for now as I will keep this 50D body of the next forseeable future.
