After those, I went out again and did basically what you are saying Koshi, and posted them here:

The yellow in the pictures are Goldenrod, and the purple are New England Aster...Both are roadside weeds in Ohio. But they turned out well as a motion blur.

Last week, I did a zoom blur pic that I had to PS with another picture of the same ear of corn to get the center sharp...ish. :
