Default canon versus nikon

Ok I saw the thread about the nikon versus canon thread but I seem to have a few questions.

I currently have a Fujifilm S7000 love the camera but want to upgrade to one where you can change out lenses.

I used to use my 35mm a lot before switching to digital.

I had a canon ae-1 program so I have a few lenses sitting around.

I went to wolf camera to ask questions compare etc. But they only had nikon and got a resounding no on the lense. He said well we have sony and nikon I prefer the nikon.

I have the following lenses (35mm)
sakar 75-300mm lense
canon 50mm lense says fd on the front
tokina 70-210mm lense
sakar 28mm lense

They all say 58mm.

If I cant use the lenses that is no big deal.

Now in looking at the newer digital cameras. I'm looking at two types.

Nikon D90 or the Canon T1i.

Pictures I take are of the wife and kids, landscapes, cars, bikes animals.

MY kids don't like to sit still so I do a lot of burst pictures where i take multiples to get one good one.

I would love some educated input. I value all different types of input except buy a nikon cause I use one.

Thanks
Richard
