Here's a few that I've done that may add some credibility to my criticisms (before you blow me off entirely).
I'm not sure I think that's fair, because while I like your last two, IMHO your first two don't do anything for me. To me, looking at the back end of a dark car, a long way away, (with heavily clipped blacks by the way) is not very dramatic or eye catching.

I think the difference here is that he took an existing, casual capture, and made something definitely print worthy. I thought the improvement was nice. I think it's fair to critique the processing, and have an opinion on what might have looked better. But that's about it.

No offense meant either. Just an observation.
