The chronicles of living in an apartment in a very old house (>150 years) continue. On the up side beautiful architecture and exposed stone. On the down side, centipedes and....mould.
This was yet another photo resulting from my desire to prove to my faraway friends and family that I am a) not crazy b) living in a crazy apartment. I think it is time to find a new apartment.
The steps involved in creating this photo:
1) One apparently moist closet, unused for the duration of summer
2) One pair of leather shoes
3) The discovery of the result of the combination of moist closets and leather shoes (AKA mould)
4) The photo
5) The photoshopping, which consisted of:
-One duplicate layer, applied "black and white" to desaturate, brightening yellows and darkening cyan/blue/red etc.
-One duplicate layer, applied "selective colour" to emphasize yellow and cyan and white and black compared to everything else, changed blending mode to hard light
-One layer on top of this with handpainted shadows and vignettes, applied gaussian blur
-Flattened image, used clone stamp to remove distracting space between floor/wall tile. Probably should have done this as the first step, but wasn't really thinking.
And that's about it really.
