FWIW, I'm not a "computer guy". But I do have a degree in software engineering!

I am a professional, not an expert. I don't know everything but I do make good money repairing computers and doing networks.

I am not a programmer so I can't tell you much about scripts and backbones no more than most programmers can troubleshoot hardware and software issues. I can tell you that Macs are vulnerable and so is Linux. Maybe not as much so as Windows, but all computers are susceptible to virus attacks. Last known count there are over 800 viruses that target Linux.

Some of you Linux guys sure know how to be annoying with the know-it-all attitudes. Programmer doesn't equate to computer master. You can have the Linux if it works for you. It's not a mainstream OS and never will be. It's a special niche for people who have good programming skills. I've been in the field for over ten years and I've dealt with many Linux people and their attitudes so I'm just not talking out of my a** here. Although sometimes I do.
