Hey Jeff, I'm Philip Webber and I actually have a Tamron AF Lens i'm no longer using. I used it with my D40 and D50 Nikon. I've had the filter on it from the time I bought it new. It's never been dropped or damaged in any way. No even a scratch, i'm very particular!!!!! I'm interested in trading for the size you have, the 55-200. It will AF w/ a D40. Contact me via email at
