Newbie~ Hello, Where & How to...
Hi
Im Shirley, from North Dakota.
Im new to photography. I tend to learn things the hard way, I tend to just 'dive' into projects and learn along the way via trail and errors, almost like throwing a non-swimmer in the deep end pool and learning to swim that way (without lessons)... Anyway, I did take photography class in my high school years... but a lot of good it did for me, being Deaf and had no interpreter at the time, just hand me a camera and tell me to snap pictures.... Then again, I do love pictures, I do love the arts in creating a photograph, it captures me... I could just stare at a picture for a long time and wonder how its done...
So comes my next question... where... I wasnt sure where to start in this forum to ask for advice...
My question is.... I live in a beautiful, beautiful country (farm community), Im trying thru trail and error to capture sunsets over the sunflower fields. What I dont understand is why when the sunset is a beautiful ball of redish/orange color the photograph of the sun comes out as a bright yellow/ white-ish color.
I read all the 'Photography Tips for Beginners' & 'The Basics of Exposure' ... I just dont know what Im doing wrong.
How do I capture the natural sunset color? is it possible?
The camera I have is a Nikon D60.
