my experience with panasonic p&s cameras has been with good lighting they take very good pics, but when the lighting starts fading the graininess ramps up pretty fast.

that said, my tz3 gets a good bit of use around the house, and elsewhere, for those quick shots. even my 6 year old can take decent photos with it.
