It depends on what you wanted your focus to be as to which is better. I like the compostition of the first better, the second has too much going on in the middle esp. with the focus on the skater.
The flame is a bit lost in both. I think it would be good to try shooting at night with an off camera speedlite for the skater (cheap and nasty Ebay remotes are good). Then you would see the skater and the flame.
