There was a Japenese tourist with a nice Nikon set up who was taking photos (not snapshots) and who was spending time composing before pressing the shutter. Given that specific situation (he was on a ferry and the river had huge chunks of ice in it - how far could he go?), I did ask him to use my Nikon to take a family photo. He was happy to oblige, and we got a very nice photo as a result.

But in any other situation, just my family gets to lay hands on it.

He could accidentally drop it into the river....
