This was a nighttime Space Shuttle launch here in Florida. I was using my one-month old Nikon D60. I had never used a digital camera before, and did not realize that there were settings that would allow me to take decent nighttime shots.

No tripod or knowledge led up to this picture. There are several more, but looking back, this was a good shot (IMHO). I'm grateful that I've never deleted any shots (yet).

The high, white round light is the Space Shuttle. The second, lower bright light was the Moon. No, really!
