Hi! My name is Teri. I've always enjoyed indulging my creative side, whatever the medium. However, I'm just really starting to explore photography as a serious hobby. I purchased my first digital camera (Canon S5) when my son's high school marching band was selected to participate in the 2007 Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Since then, I've been hooked!
I started out just taking photos on auto settings for use in the band's website (
www.pldband.org). Last year the band's official photographer (another parent who is also a professional photographer) asked if I would take over as her child had graduated. Needless to say I'm a little nervous, but willing to give it a go!
I'm very impressed with DPS so far and have already picked up quite a few pointers. Since marching band shows run 14 mins from announcement of "now entering..." until the band exits the field, setup / timing of action shots is going to be my main focus this year. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
