I find great use for both of these pods depending upon which camera I am using. My advanced point and shoot works great with the red pod and my nikon D80 with 70-300 lens is well supported when I use the green pod. I mostly use it as a support as if holds angles very well on whatever surface is around. I highly recommend them.

I'll give you a dollar to see you attach your D80 and 70-300 lens, fully extended, to the pod and put it in the railing of the iron gate they show on the site and walk away.
