The diagram he sent with the kit is wrong...he has an updated one on-line. The resistor that is in-line with the transistor (not the SCR) is too small..I think I bumped it up to 10k. If that resistor is too small, the SCR will always be "closed".
If the variable resistors are set too low (in either the sound trigger or the delay circuit) the trigger won't work. I've dealt with this for a while, but it's a pain.

Ah, thanks for the tip. Though to be honest I have no idea what you're saying. I just followed the pictures on the website and the thing doesn't work. I think it'd be really cool to have but it's beyond my DIY abilities. Hopefully someone will start manufacturing a pre-fab alternative that doesn't cost a fortune.
