Hi everyone, my name is Deney (Dee for short) from Long Beach, CA. Just purchase my first dslr a week ago and looking to learn more about photography. Before taking that big leap, I've only used camera phones and point-and-shoot cameras. To be honest, I've never been fond of point-and-shoot, I've always thought my Nokia 95-3 does a better job camera wise.

I'm looking to meet people with the same interest, hopefully that will make the whole learning process easier.
Can anyone recommend a workshop in the LA area?
