Hi, all, I'm Sal, and I'm a grandfather of 4. I live in Gilroy, CA, "The Garlic Capital of the World", and home to the Gilroy Garlic Festival. I got into photography after attempting twice to get into two CSI jobs where the first questions on the supplemental application and in the interview were "Describe Your Photography Experience" and I had none (ouch). I took a class, and found I actually had an artistic side (I took second place in my first competition at our county fair, displaying some pictures I had taken for a school assignment). I cut my teeth on an old Pentax K-1000 (still have it) and learned how to develop film. I also own a Sony Cybershot my wife's boss gave to her, and I just bought a Pentax K-2000. My pictures are getting better, and thanks to the speed of digital photography, I can immediately see how lousy the shots are, as opposed to having to wait a week for the CD and prints.
There is a lot of good stuff on here. I'm glad I found it. I'll be posting as soon as I work up the nerve.
