Default Assignment: Ghetto Lighting + Reflector (16 May 2009)

Hi all, I am new to DPS forum and this is my first post.

For this photo, I am shooting for my new SDX model.

Firstly, I set my aperture very small so that no ambient light can be captured by the sensor. Then I turned on the flash and bounced it at an angle towards the DIY aluminum foil reflector to create a softer light and that it will not directly blast off its face.
I purposely make the shoot a bit under exposed to try to create a "killer" like feeling for his pose. Also, I tried to compose his eyes (half covered by the helmet) near the center to enhance the "killer" like feeling as well.

And here is the final shot without any post editing.

Canon 40D + Kit Lens
Nikon SB-24 Flash
DIY Aluminum Foil Reflector
Aperture: f/20
Shutter Speed: 1/250 sec
ISO: 400
Manual Mode
