Hi, I'm from Aberdeen in Scotland. Photography has been my hobby only for around 6 months. I was made redundant from my job, used the redundancy money to go trekking around South East Asia and had borrowed a camera from a friend for the trip.
Nobody was more surprised than myself at how much I enjoyed photography and when I got home I bought a Nikon D40, a wide angle and zoom lens. I never go anywhere without it

Anyway, I haven't been able to find another job in my field of work, so this got me to thinking about the future and what I wanted to do. The idea of sitting behind a desk for the next 35 years until retirement doesn't leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy with anticipation.
Given that, after a lot of thought, I've decided to go to college as a mature student and study toward gaining a BA in Photography.
