I completely agree with you. In fact, it probably could do with going further - each "system" (Mac, Windows, Linux... and others) has several favours (anyone still using a pre-OSX Mac?) and the capabilities of the system depends a lot on the extra software you install on top of it. It could end up as a rather gargantuan poll!
One thing is clear though - Apple has definitely still got a lead in the imaginations of the arty types...
