After three months of winter, I have been getting a heavy dose of spring fever. Last week it snowed, this week it has been raining.
It is easy to see photos of other places and wish for the opportunity to travel there and take some pictures, especially when they
are photos of warm sunny beaches.
This is the start of my “Home Town Challenge.” Instead of planning a day or weekend trip to a different area, this is a challenge
to stay in your home town. Take pictures of the places you drive by every day without giving a second glance. Visit a part of town
you haven’t been to in years.
Rule #1: Stay within 5 miles of your home.
Rule #2: No tourist attraction hot spots. If you live a block away from the Empire State Building, don't take the easy shot.
Take a picture of the forgotten things surrounding the building.
This is a shot of a cemetery I drive by every day when I take my children to school.
