Heck -- sometimes I limit myself to my cell phone camera, to force myself to pay attention to composition and subject, instead of technical details. Of course, I don't usually post those photos (... mainly because my phone's bluetooth refuses to work ...). Regardless, the point is the photos, not the equipment. The equipment is interesting, but not essential to know, nor is it a parameter which is good for segregation of photos.
I have made 16x20 prints from my old Sony P&S, and they look great. I wouldn't mind putting one or two of them up in a gallery, either. It really is the photographer.
