Okay, well I'm back to give this a try.
I decided to borrow one of my recent shots (see below) as the backdrop, which made the editing process quite fast.
What I did (in PSP X2):
-Gave the earth a color boost with the Time Machine Tool (cross processed)
-Pasted earth image as a new layer onto above hand shot
-Used the pick tool to resize the layer
-Erased the black around the earth
-Positioned the earth into the right spot on the finger tip
