I started out with PSE-3 and slowly evoled to more advanced editing software. Today I use Nikon Capture NX-2, Lightroom-2 and PSE-7 or CS-3. Probably 98% of the time I use PSE-7 and Lightroom 2. I used to use NX more often but the workflow in Lightroom is so easy and straightforward and intuitive. The Printing module in LR beats any other program out there. I purchased LR-1 with my daughters teachers discount for $99 and just recently upgraded to LR 2 (with a coupon discount of 15%) for $79. Best investment I have made in a long time. If you know a teacher or student you can get their discount then upgrade PSE-4 to PSE-7 when it becomes availabe for a MAC platform. I just recently upgraded from PSE-5 to PSE-7 for $49 with instant discount and upgrade coupon from Staples. PSE-7 is a better (IMHO) version of elements then ^.
