My name is Leightan and I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. I started in photography years ago with the purchase of a Minolta AE-7. I still have it along with several lens, but I don't use it anymore. It still works, but it costs money everytime the shutter moves so I use my digital which doesn't cost anything to operate.

I switched to an Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom, however, I got frustrated with hunt and seek zoom. It takes great pictures but not if the image is moving.

Last Christmas I received an Olympus E-510 with a two lens kit and a speed light. I recently added an Olympus E-3 and two more zoom lens along with a Monofotto tripod. I just took a course at the local college on Photoshop using CS3 and I bought CS4 Extended. I am currently trying to learn how to use the digital cameras without the automatic settings and the Photoshop.

I have been a member of DPS for a while but haven't posted anything yet. I am in awe of some of the shots I have seen on this website, but I am learning what I should be looking for in a good photo.
