what a cute little man!! I'm sure warming it up did a lot for it, but I think the the black background it too overwhelming. I'm a huge fan of black backgrounds, but this image has so much color and the black just seems to be swallowing it. I did a very quick and dirty edit so you could see what it would look like on white. I hope that was okay. If not, just let me know and I will delete it.
Also, the baby is so centered. I don't always abide by the rule of thirds with portrait photography, but this is more like a stillife with so much in it. You want the main subject to fall on one of the 1/3 corners so that the eye is automatically drawn to that first. I tried croping from both sides and liked this one best. I think it is because the large pumpkins compete with him too much. Here is a quick crop just to show the difference. once again, just let me know if you want me to delete it.
