Default Who am I? That is a very Zen question.

My name I Rick.
I am 52 years old. I own a business in Miami Florida where I repair Jet Aircraft Engines parts for major airlines around the world. I also have a 20 acre ranch in Ocala Florida where my wife and I raise South African Boer Goats.

My father got me into photography in the early 1970’s. We or he had a 35mm Minolta with a 70-200mm F2.8 macro zoom lens (Very nice), 18mm wide angle and a 55mm portrait. The flash was dedicated but TTL was unknown, at least to us. During that time I took a lot of vacation shots and floral shots and learned about film speed, aperture and DOF but film developing cost got in the way of Motorcycles, RC airplanes and raising two kids.

I got back in when digital photography started. My first camera was 640X480 resolution ( 1 megapixels where for the rich and famous) about the size and with the features of the 110 point and shot of the day. With that digital camera I started making ID badges and irons for tee shirts in Windows 3.1. Next was a Sony unit with 10x optical zoom and a whooping 1024 x 768 resolution and it recorded the images on a 3.5” floppy disk, it also recorded 320x240 meg movies with sound. Boy was the chest out when I brought that home.

Three years ago I purchased a Canon Rebel with the standard 18-55mm EFS lens and a Quantaray 70-300mm zoom. Last month I purchased an EF 100-400mm L USM IS zoom, EF 100mm Macro lens and an Extender EF 1.4X. Yep knee deep both feet. Now all I have to learn is how to make all this stuff work and this forum seems to be a good place to learn.

Well anyone wanting to know more about me after all that is probably a sick puppy so I will leave all you shutter bugs with a thought……..
In some circles being over exposed can get you in trouble.

Rick
