Thanks, Teewinot. I saw it another way:
iNeegma,
Just when I thought I had begun to figure out this whole post-processing deal, I discover that indeed, I was only fooling myself. I have no doubt that you must be an accomplished artisan of the electonic medium, and base your comment on the fact that you could edit the underexposed, small blurry image, but that it would be a waste of your time, since "no amount of pp skills will save it."
Well, don't we look silly, thinking that the experience of trying different ways of seeing and editing a photograph, could in any way be helpful, or enjoyable. Have you looked at the other 65 previous WWYD submissions? We might benefit from having you advise us which of those we have also wasted our time practicing on.
It's rare that we get a truly insightful critic who can at a glance determine the possibilities - or lack of them - in a photograph. Most of us need to actually try an edit before we find it too difficult or unworthy of our effort.
Perhaps Nicole can send you a copy of the next WWYD before she posts it and you can explain to her why you approve or disapprove of her choice. That way we will not mistakenly waste time on an impossible task.
