I'm not nearly so creative, but here is my approach to post-processing this photo. Hope you like it!
What I did was apply a very transparent white layer, erase around the outer part to highlight the "face" Then I added gamm correction and levels adjustment layers. I removed the sky and replaced it with my chosen color, which I also used to create the frame.
