I am a big girl myself, a young big girl..but still. I find I look better in my photos when I am not slouched over and have confidence. There's nothing wrong with a bigger body, and it can look good on camera. Confidence is my main thing, my pictures are worst when I am feeling my worst. Let her know she's pretty no matter what, and then you can use some of the techniques the others have mentioned.
