Here's my take on it.
The larger pic looks a bit better
I used PSP X2. Created a dupe color layer. Converted the top layer to a platinum type b&w that was popular between 1873-1920. Erased the guitar on the b&w layer. Flattened the layers then applied a USM to the whole thing.
Oh, I cropped it too.
