The colors are a little bland but what really bothers me about the shot is that little bit of black in the bottom left corner. I feel like there should be either more of it or none at all... I would also consider cropping the image to bring a focus to the photo. The image as is doesnt really draw the eye to anything specific so I find myself wandering on this one.
Try a tighter crop on the surf breaking and some saturation.
