This is an interesting thread to read. Though if not for digital, I wouldn't be able to get into photography.

I've read about a local online group of digital photographers (with varying levels of experience) who met-up one gloomy rainy day along (many consider to be precarious) streets of old Manila. The photo challenge for the day: prove that "it's not the camera, but the eye behind the viewfinder..." Each one was given the same kodak disposable film camera, all to be submitted for uniform processing at the end of 3 hours. Some interesting shots came out, afterwards one of them took out his dslr and asked a young vagrant boy on the street to take their group photo.

Sounds like an interesting activity to try.
