Love this Assignment. Took around 50 photos, narrowed it down to six, narrowed down to one. I tried to find a balance between short dof and low light since to me "wide open" insinuates either or both. The Canon EF 50 f1.4 is my go to choice for low light. The short dof of this lens makes it a great choice for close candid. Here's my entry. Canon 40D, EF 50 f1.4, 1/250s, ISO 800. I know, I could have shot this ISO 400 @ 1/125. I prefer tack sharp over low noise when shooting a subject this close and at 600 pixels wide I dont think noise is an issue here. Cropped square, original full height. C & C welcome.
