Hello fellow photography lovers, my name is Linda, and I think I'm going to be an addict!
I have been interested in photography as an observer since I was a child, having an Uncle and a Grandfather who were passionate about their hobby and allowed me to assist even in the darkroom. I have been using a point-and-shoot Olympus C300Z for many years that I was quite fond of, but decided I want to go to the next level. Hubby just bought me my first DSLR for Christmas. I was going to stay with Olympus with the Evolt 500, but ultimately decided on the Canon EOS 30D. It is both amazing and intimidating all at the same time; fortunately, I don't scare easily.
Thanks for an interesting and informative site. Many photo forums take on an elitist tone and are not welcoming to non-pros or those new to the hobby. I've been reading a few out there, but have not joined. I didn't find that "attitude" here at all so here I am and I look forward to sharing with you as I try, fail, learn and grow!
P.S. I posted my first subject,
one of my cats in the pets thread...
