Default I started with film...

I started photography as a kid with point and shoot cameras and my parent's Pentax 35mm. I took photography as a 4-H project and learned some basics like framing and the rule of thirds. In college I took a basic photography class and learned a few dark room tecniques. In 1996 I bought a good film camera of my own. I've always been the family photographer, taking tons of pics and getting everyone together for photos. My Dear Husband had a good Canon film camera, but after dropping it in water for the second time (while taking pictures of the fish he was catching) it was unrepairable. About 5-6 years ago, DH and I purchased an early digital camera (used) from a friend. We had fun learning about the new digital technology. I was fortunate then to work part-time for a friend of mine - a professional photographer who used digital. I did her scheduling and took orders, but also got to do a little photo editing in Photoshop. I'm a writer and need high resolution photos for publication, and my husband needs high res photos for his company's publications. About 18 mos ago we purchased a Sony Cyber-Shot Super Steady Shot DSC-H2 with a 12x optical zoom. We both really enjoy the camera, and often argue about who gets to take it. Since DH paid for it, he is usually the winner, but not always. Sometimes I can make a pretty good case of why I need it.
