Default Assignment: Abstract

Noticed this old truck resting on cinder blocks in front of an abandoned building while driving the back roads of the Missouri Ozarks. Glad I had my camera with me. This is a close up of the passenger side door.

Did some work in Photoshop: Channel blending and curves in luminosity to increase contrast-Used a maneuver in LAB that I learned from Dan Margulis called Man From Mars to get more color separation-then did some pretty aggressive sharpening to emphasize the texture.

I'm still amazed by the beauty of seemingly mundane objects. Of course beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.
