I have the DSLR Zoom version. I've added the Manfrotto 322RC2 Horizontal Grip Action Ball Head to it and this combo is great. I've wrapped my gorillapod around chairs, poles etc. Sometimes it takes a little maneuvering to get it to stay stable, but once you get it fastened correctly you're set. I've used it with my 40D and my 70-200L 2.8 IS lens and it held up beautifully. I wouldn't use it as a substitute for my regular tripod, but it is great for light travel as it fits inside my camera bag. Last, it makes for a great conversational piece
