It’s New Years Eve here in Australia and so I thought I’d break my little vacation from blogging to stop by and wish all DPS readers all the best wishes for their New Year’s Eve celebrations.
As can be seen a couple of posts back - it looks like 2007 was a big year of learning about digital photography for many of you - lets hope that 2008 is just as good.
I’m looking forward to sharing it with you.
If you’re out and about on New Year’s Eve with your digital camera - you might want to have a brush up on your Fireworks Photography Tips with our post - How to Photograph Fireworks Displays.
Have a great New Years Eve, however you’re celebrating and don’t forget to drop by the forums to share some of your best shots.

Happy New year to you Darran and to all the DPS users. 2007 was a wonderful year for me as I started photography as a hobby in February with Sony DSC-H5 and couple of months ago I bought Canon DSLR 40D with Tamron 17-50mm and Canon 70-200mm L IS USM and Canon 100mm Macro USM.
(know how to convince wife)
Though I haven’t posted much in the forum here but I learned lot from you all and I am always thankful to you all.
Enjoy photography

Argh! If only I had seen this yesterday!
I’m in Sydney and was a bit busy for feed reading yesterday. I was planning to take photos - it would have made sense to seek out some tips. I only fulfilled a few or those recommendations, not for lack of trying (the remote I was going to buy was a bit more expensive than I thought so I didn’t) and some were ignorance - I had aperture open and ISO right up.
The photos were ok for a first attempt I think - not spectacular. I’ll be sure to remember these tips next year!
Happy New Year!
Look forward to learning more this year!
