19 More Creative Mirror Self Portraits
2 years ago to the day we published a post titled – 13 Fun Self Portrait Mirror Shots. It was such a popular post and that still gets a lot of visitors to it today (and which spurred a lot of our readers to try their own shots) that we thought we’d create another one with 19 more self portrait mirror shots. Enjoy!

love these self-portraits … mine was taken in old mirror on landing of a 17th century building stairwell in Paris. I used it as profile photo for my website: http://www.malibufineartphotography.com/bio.html

In some, you could wonder who/what is the real subject:
Some artists have (re)inverted the final picture so you can read the brand/type/(price tag?) of their gear.
Kind of denying the mirror part…

hey, nice selection of photos… however, a few of them are not self portraits in mirrors
the axis of the lenses are not aligned….

Seemed that several shots were portraits of cameras rather than self portraits….

VERY BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION OF SELF PORTRAITS..ARE THEY ALL REALLY MIRROR IMAGES???????????
September 11th, 2012 at 1:45 am
I don’t see a single image that were a portrait of a camera. The Canon 5d is just close to the mirror. You can clearly see the guy in the back fake reading.
The best is the b/w of the guy sitting down with the woman standing behind him. It looks very 74′ ish. (The 6th one down) It may very well be from the 70′s, the camera is a Canon film camera, he’s wearing an old school leather belt, pants look like they could be corduroy, and they are super low-rise, (a style back then.) the stove is def. from the 70′s, the pan on the stove is really old – perhaps late 60′s. The chair also looks 70′s. I can’t see the sundries in the cupboard – but, the top right looks like those old school wine bottles covered with raffia or that basket weaving material. That wine used to be either burgundy wine or red wine. I don’t recall as I was a teeeeeny baby then. Another tip off is that his hair is longish and feathered, he’s got cool guy porkchoppish sideburns too. Her hair though is the style that is widely used these days.
Unless this is a border and treatment used by the editor of the shot, this is a scanned image of a picture not a negative because you can see the wear on the bottom left. (which I like as it gives more flavour to the image.
And the other ones that are the same person (i believe…) is # 4 and #15, the gentleman who applies the texture and vignetting, shooting with a Lumix me thinks.
That’s what’s cool about it. It ‘technically’ isn’t anything special or unique – but it has that oldschool feel to it. And dont know if anyone noticed but 1, 10, and 12 is the same guy. I dig his 2nd picture (or #10) the one with the glass bulbs above his head and is purplish, reddish, magentaish.
*******note of interest****** I didn’t realize that if you hover over the image it shows who shot the image.
Idiot of the day, signing off…

This was a total accident. Using my macro lens on my daughter’s eye. Didn’t notice the reflection until it was uploaded to the computer.

I don’t have a Cindy Crawford lens so I’ll have to hide behind my camera.
Found some of these self portraits really inspiring!
Loved the one of the elderly man next to a doorway. Lots of texture!

Great tutorial, however, you may want to rethink the retro b/w one…. There is a foreground image that is in a very….ummm…interesting position………… Moral of the story, make sure you check the surroundings of the image. Gave me a good laugh though!
