When a musicla conductor “comlimented” my photographs saying ‘I like your photographs, they are nice and sharp”.

  • Johann

I’ve heard the “great camera” (I have a 100-400 L), questions about zoom or the lack thereoff, and I hate even hearing the word “megapixels”. Good video though.

  • Karl Karlsen

“Honestly, what can you do with your expensive camera (Nikon D4, Nikkor 14-24, speedlights and tripod) that I couldn´t do with my phone?”

  • White_Rabbit13

Damn, I better get on this.. Picnik?.. Like ight now. It sounds amazing. Will it make my camera’s megapixels better?

  • Rosangela Frita

Too funny! The best I got was some dude coming up to me when I was trying to do some landscape photos, insist I take his picture and after asking me if I would send the print to his home!

  • vilim

It surely is funny 😀 And it is supposed to be funny. Poor are the people who get offended by comments like this 🙂

  • Danielle Libine-Collins

Spot on! Reason we actually don’t want to work with anyone who has a pulse and a check book. Pre-qualifying clients makes life so much easier.

  • Sharon Marx

If it weren’t all so true! Thanks for the chuckle! 🙂

    Well done, very funny!

Thank god no one talks to me that way.

  • two40morty May 17, 2012 05:27 am

I love walking up to a location bristling with my lenses, lightstands, bags, etc. and having someone ask, "Are you the photographer?" I'm often tempted to respond, " No, I'm a proctologist and I'm here to conduct a colonoscopy."

  • Dena May 16, 2012 03:19 am

This had me laughing for hours! Well done!

  • Paul May 14, 2012 07:11 am

Very good, nice to lighten up sometimes!! :)

  • Chas May 13, 2012 07:51 am

I loved this, very apropos. As a photographer of school students for yearbooks, I frequently am called, "Mr. Picture Guy" and often get asked, "Are you here to take our pictures?" Once a custodian asked if I was in the school to take pictures and I told him, "No, I'm actually here to fix the plumbing." He got the joke. Later I saw him again and he asked if I fixed the plumbing problem and I said, "Yes, now they have me taking photos." He got that one too.

My personal favorite: I was shooting a event and a slightly drunk man walked up to me, looked at my 5DMark II and asked, "Uh... is that one of those pocket cameras, heh, heh? I looked at him, paused for a moment and said, "Well.... it all depends on how DEEP your pockets are, buddy."

  • OnyxE May 13, 2012 05:27 am

The only thing anyone has ever said to me so far was 'Did you just take my picture?'.....and I said yes, I did, and it's entirely legal......I saw you coming and you had to walk your two dogs, one on leash and one off, right by that goose standing on the seawall ledge (the seawall is 15 feet wide...he could have simply moved to the far side and kept his unleashed dog away from the bird) walked right by the goose and allowed your unleashed mutt to jump at him - you have no respect for the onleash bylaw or the federal laws protecting these birds from everything including harassment from your unleashed dog'.....after a 'discussion' he left, hands still clenched, trying to tell me I was 'weird' for taking his photo......

I laughed and cringed at this video. lol

  • colin May 12, 2012 07:17 pm

" what you paid all that money for that lens and it doesn't zoom ? are you an idiot ? even my blacberry has zoom on. My camera has a 10x zoom and I dont even know what it means but at least the lens moves in and out " That has to be my favourite quote from a family member

  • SnookyBC May 12, 2012 01:14 am

I've watched this video twice. I'm going to watch it again. It's so much fun!
Hopefully it'll teach some "models" to hang their egos on the door knob and make the planet a much better place! :)

  • Witchy May 12, 2012 12:20 am

Part of the reason I don't often shoot people. I annoy WAY to easy. I'll stick to landscapes & stuff tyvm.

  • Donna Van Vlack May 11, 2012 11:43 pm

I love the "no wonder you take good photos look at that camera" If only it was that easy.

  • Max Almonte May 11, 2012 11:13 pm

This Shtuff was hilarious. What a day to start this with.

  • Prime May 11, 2012 09:14 pm

The best one of them all - M? (1:20)
    Loved this.

  • Tommiegunn May 11, 2012 06:26 pm

That's so funny. The part where he says..."how many mega pixels"'.

I just started laughing cause one of my previous client ask me the same question. And also to photoshop every she didn't like out.

  • Fuzzypiggy May 11, 2012 05:44 pm

    Oh yes!

The classic, "Are you a photographer?", after they spot a DSLR on a big black tripod and big case full of kit on the ground, the urge to use sarcasm rises so hard as to give me a lump in my throat! "No the camera is there for show. this is actually a street-art installation questioning our need to capture the world in images!"

I love that one, "Oh no wonder your pictures like nice, you have such an expensive camera!". Yeah thanks! Nevermind all that practice I put in week after week, all that reading I've done, eh? Nope I just went down to Calumet's and bough the biggest camera I could find and magically started shooting images you thought are nice!

Still it's better than one time an old gent walked up to me on the street and yelled, "Why you want to take pictures of this place?! It's all s**t! That's s**t! That over there is utter s**t! You don't want to bother 'cos it's all utter s**t around here! I'm going home 'cos it's all s**t!", yeah OK mate whatever you say!

  • Lady Nina May 11, 2012 04:55 pm

God how annoying people can be! For the moment I stay outside of portrait phothography XD

  • Kathy May 11, 2012 03:25 pm

Haha! "So much money for a piece of paper."

  • Jacqui B May 11, 2012 02:26 pm

Hahaha yep I've heard most of this also.

  • Sheryl Salisbury May 11, 2012 12:21 pm

I smiled through this whole video. I've definitely heard most of this! lol

  • raghavendra May 11, 2012 12:15 pm

"can you guys make my hair longer?"

here is another picture to make you smile

  • mcculloch photo May 11, 2012 10:56 am

    That was Great!,

I think the guys voice made it!!

"That didnt work, there was no flash" all classic that just keeps on coming and coming.
"Do it again, your flash didnt go off"

"Here, I'll take one of you... your screens not working?... use the viewfinder, what?"

  • Steve May 11, 2012 10:35 am

    Three minutes too long IMO.

  • Shane Viper May 11, 2012 10:14 am a good laugh in the morning. Cheers

  • Jody May 11, 2012 06:57 am

No word of a lie -- "excuse me - could you dive under my dress and move my thong about an inch to the left? There is NO WAY I'm going to make it through the whole ceremony like this!!" From the maid of honor at the first wedding I ever shot as we stood in the foyer of the church about to start the grand entrance.

  • andrew May 11, 2012 06:34 am

You are such a great photographer, you must have very expensive equipment :-D ....Nobody would tell a cook that his food is great because he has expensive pots.

  • Martina May 11, 2012 05:04 am

This video is soo funny and sad at the same time!

  • Weedwacker May 11, 2012 03:45 am

This post is funny! I heard a lot of things said to me when I was executing this 6 second exposure in New York's Grand Central Station - most of which is unrepeatable....but it was certainly colorful and VERY NYC!
