“Light is one of the most important elements in landscape photography. But you don’t always have light. So when you don’t have light, the next best thing to look for is a lovely S-Curve leading into your image.”
Thomas Heaton shot this beautiful little video that illustrates a few things including how to compose landscape photos with S-Curves.
There’s much more though in this video – Thomas gives a great example of how to approach a shoot when you are faced with less than ideal light or weather. It’s also a great illustration of the importance of returning to a location multiple times.
There’s also a cool little hack for stopping your tripod from sinking into wet sand.
