Get Complete Control Of Your Camera with Our Brand New Course

Pnbvideo boxToday I’m very excited to announce the launch of our first Digital Photography School Course – Photo Nuts and Bolts.

The Photo Nuts Journey

Early in 2010 dPS launched a brand new eBook – Photo Nuts and Bolts. Written by Neil Creek it was all about understanding your camera so you can get creative control over it.

It went on to become one of our most popular eBooks ever and each year since we’ve added new eBooks to the series including Photo Nuts and Shots (Tools and Techniques for Creative Photography), Photo Nuts and Post (a Guide to Post-Processing) and Photo Nuts and Gear (Know your gear and take better shots).

These eBooks have helped tens of thousands of dPS readers!

Announcing our Brand New Photo Nuts Course

Today sees the continuation of the Photo Nuts journey with this fantastic course by Neil Creek. Here’s the course intro:

This course brings alive the concepts in the original Photo Nuts and Bolts eBook and is all about putting down your user manual, saying goodbye to ‘Auto’ mode and learning firsthand how to use your camera to its full potential.

The course is delivered through 10 high quality video lessons delivered at your own pace through our brand new courses area here on dPS. It comes with downloadable course notes, exercises and resources.

Is Photo Nuts and Bolts for You?

There’s plenty of great information on what this course covers over on the Photo Nuts and Bolts Course page but in short it is for you if:

  • You’re new to photography and/or using a DSLR camera
  • You want to move past the point and shoot approach and get out of ‘Auto’ mode
  • You’d like to understand the fundamentals of how your camera works and start using it to its full potential
  • You’re looking to get more technical and increase the creative control you have over your camera
  • You learn best by visually observing and doing, not reading a manual

Thanks for this. I picked up a copy first thing this morning and have been glued to my computer ever since. Neil’s explanations are great on things I’d never fully understood before. I can’t wait to get out this weekend and start shooting!

  • Graham Mac

Great course. I’m loving Neil’s explanations so far. While I’ve read many books on the exposure triangle I feel like this has helped it to finally click for me.

  • Maude

I bought the course but haven’t received any information on how to have access to it… can anyone help me? I wrote twice to DPS this week, no one contacted me back…

  • gtvone

Hi Maude, I’ve searched our helpdesk for ‘Maude’ and have only three contacts from people named Maude and I’m sorry to say none of them about the course (So I’m assuming not you) Please contact support directly by emailing and someone (me!) will get right back to you. Apols for the delay! —S

  • Rosenut

I’ve purchased the course several days ago and still have no way to access the course. Your email saying my issue was resolved still had no link or anyway to download the course. The link given brought me back to this page to “purchase”, there’s nothing in my account showing the course or that I have purchased it. Please advise……

  • Maude

Hello, I just wanted to thank DPS for the quick help! I finally got access to the course after writing to the email address just above this post and everything is fine now. Good costumer service, thank you very much 🙂

  • gtvone

Hey Maude, you’re welcome! Sorry it was a bit tricky, but we’re working through it and hopefully getting everyone all fixed up! Cheers — Simon

  • Maude

You should reply to their email saying your problem hasn’t been solved. The same thing happened to me (I had to write twice, the first time did not work out), they were quick to answer and my problem is now solved! 🙂

  • gtvone

Hi Rosenut, glad we could sort your purchase problem out today! Apols for the delay naturally.

  • gtvone

Thanks Maude, I have this one 🙂

Happily! Did you email the support desk, Pam? I’m just working through and have about 25 requests to go. (I’ve just found yours and will do it now, stand by!) Thanks –S

  • gtvone

Pam, yours should work now, we’re working on the software now, so it may take a couple hours, but I’ve certainly set yours to working – apols for the delay! —S

< I freelance online, working basic jobs that only require desktop or laptop computer and access to internet and I am so happy with it… After six months on this job and i had profit so far in total 36 thousand dollars… Basicly i get paid about 80 bucks each hour and work for 3-4 h a day.Best part to whole this thing is that you can determine your own working hours and you get paid at the end of each week.
