15 Fantastic Freckle Photos [Updated]

You can put this image collection down into the slightly silly category but I just spent a fun hour looking at portraits that feature people with freckles.

A young stranger: Quebec Rainbow gathering 2009: Gäya 7 years old

I’m not sure why I ended up on this quest – perhaps it’s some subconscious therapeutic activity from growing up as the red headed kid with freckles – but I love some of these shots.

While the freckles in many of these shots have been highlighted a little with some post production – hopefully they provide some of you fellow freckle faced photographers with some inspiration 🙂

Click the images to be taken to the photographers Flickr page to learn more about them and the images in this post.

wow, great pictures ! love it

    @George...
I think a few have been tweaked for effect. Totally unnecessary to my mind. Freckles are great as natural decoration: they don't need exagerating.

Very interesting photos. But I think that not all of them are natural. Especially #1 looks unreal. Who else agrees with me?

This is one from a few years ago.

excellent images. I would also love some tips on duplicating the eyes within the last image.... really nice processing

Some great photos! The freckles allow us to appreciate every human as God's distinct creation. Nothing to feel embarrassed about.

I love girls with freckles. I even went so far as to tell the cashier at the supermarket what great freckles she had (I must be 40 years her senior).
Is the last photo a wide-open shot?

  • Geoff May 17, 2013 02:42 am

I hate it when girls cover up natural freckles with inch thick make up, I think a red head with a few freckles across the nose and upper cheeks is great! Redheads with Freckles FTW!

I love the look of the last photo in the feature (The boy with the blue eyes). Can anyone comment on how it is processed? It looks like the clarity has been cranked up but not sure how to replicate the look of those eyes!
    Thank you, all.

I didn't have dominate freckles growing up but did have some. The freckled faces featured here are great and inspire me to take some photos of my grandchildren who have freckles.

  • Wendy May 16, 2013 11:20 am

Wow, what great photos! I love how each photographer embraced the uniqueness of each person's freckles. My nephew has freckles and I love photographing him as well. Here's one of my shots. I have always been fascinated by all the different ways that people look.

We are all so different but still the same.

Shout out to all the red heads.

I heard a joke on comedy channel that was hilarious.

They say red heads can't date because people always think if it's your sibling, lol.
